The Wayne County Chapter of the NWTF
had three winners for their annual drawing for the
youth turkey hunt. Daniel Cooper the captain
of Cooper Hunting Accessories Jr. Pro Staff was one
of the lucky winners. On Saturday March 31, 2007 the
hunt ensued and Daniel was able to harvest TWO
trophy birds. The first one came in at 21 pounds
with an 11-3/4" beard and 1-3/16" spurs and the
second was 16 pounds with a 10" beard and 1" spurs.
His guild was none other than Shane Berry of Primos.
The other two winners were Victoria Russell and
Elizabeth Morris. There guilds were Andy Taylor of
Bass Pro and Mike Wolf of Knight and Hale.
We would like to take this
opportunity to express our appreciation to the
guilds, the NWTF and the land owner (who wishes to
be unnamed) for having this event. Our youth are in
fact our future hunters. Sharing the great outdoors
with them is important in keeping this part of our
